EL CAJON, Calif. – Peter Beale-Wirsing (SR/San Diego, CA)'s 20 points and eight rebounds wasn't enough as the Hawks fell to No. 9 Concordia 77-62 Saturday night.
With the loss, SDC falls to 5-8 overall and 0-5 in GSAC play. The Eagles improved to 15-3 on the season and 4-1 in conference.
Ty Armstrong scored 29 points and collected six rebounds off the bench to pace Concordia.
The Hawks shot 41.8 percent from the floor and went 3-of-17 from beyond the arc.
Deion Davis (FR/San Diego, CA) gave SDC their first lead of the game with 12:58 remaining in the first. The lead was short lived as an Eagle trey gave the lead back to CUI. Beale-Wirsing's layup with 6:37 left in the first saw the largest lead owned by the Hawks in the game. But a 17-5 run from the Eagles gave them a 10-point lead at the break.
In the second half, SDC would cut the deficit in half as they trailed 43-38 with a Beale-Wirsing layup with 15:11 left in the game but that's the closest SDC would get.
Daniel Nielsen (JR/Grandview, WA) tallied 17 points, as Davis was next in double figures with 12.
The Hawks will travel to Westmont in their next game on Thursday.
