COSTA MESA, Calif. – With injuries healed and a healthy squad, the Men's and Women's Cross Country teams ran in the Vanguard Invitational on Saturday.
The Women's team finished 16th out of 18 teams, while the Men's finished 14th out of 14.
Heather Borsos finished tops on the women's side as she ran a personal best 20:25.20 in the 5K race good for 76th. Liliana Gomez-Garza finished next for the Hawks with a time of 22:29.87 and 128th place. Followed were Savanah McGrath (25:57.18, 150th), Karla Camrillo (26:02.33, 151st), Kendra Chmaberlain (27:47.89, 159th), and Julia Baker (28:41.62, 163rd).
Joseph Bridgeforth came in first for the men's team with a time of 31:31.05 in the 8K course, good for 113th. Alessandro Moriano was next with 31:42.44 and 116th. Following Moriano were Juan Maffey (31:54.55, 120th), Roy Galvan (34:42.64, 132nd), and Maksym Zasadnyy (39:19.78, 141st).
The Hawks will race in the Cal State San Marcos Cougar Challenge next week, starting at 8 a.m.
