SANTEE, Calif. – The SDC women's tennis team made history last week as they claimed their first GSAC tournament title.
The Hawks continued the streak earning them the GSAC Coach of the Year and Player of the Year.
Priscilla Jensen earned her first GSAC Coach of the Year in her three years at SDC. Her team swept GSAC play and only dropped two matches all year. One against NCAA Div. I Seattle University 6-1 and the other to NCAA Div. II Point Loma 7-2.
In her first season with the SDC women's tennis team, Brittany Augustine made an immediate impact and was named Golden State Athletic Conference Player of the Year.
Augustine finished the season with a 16-1 record in No. 1 Singles and 15-2 in No. 1 Doubles. Augustine helped the Hawks to a GSAC regular season and conference tournament title.
With SDC winning the conference tournament, the Hawks will be heading to the NAIA National Tournament in Mobile, Ala. on May 16.
